As the Mako Burns

As the Mako Burns is a commissioned hand-embroidered textile. An algorithmically generated composition, chosen and reworked by Xie, was embroidered by hand onto blue linen and stretched over canvas, with ochres and oranges set against the ground.

Like the rest of Xie's embroidered work, it brings computational artistry and traditional textile craft into one object, letting the two disciplines enhance and complement each other.
